I don't have time to write much, but I worked yesterday at a very special event. We had to drive a ways, but we ended up at this beautiful camp full of really friendly and smiling kids. The kids are all "sick," with things like cancer, but you'd never really know it. They were having so much fun! My therapy dog friends and I got lots of petting and hugs.

Last Sunday, my Mom and Dad and I went on an outing. Or a couple of outings, I suppose. First, we went to a local pet adoption fair. It has been really cold here lately! Most nights I've been sleeping all the way under the covers, between my Mom and Dad. It sure is warm there! It's been a long time since I've done any Therapy Dog work, but I got to make a special visit this past weekend. I went to a woman's home. She's been very sick and her daughter thought I would cheer her up. She petted me and kept saying what a good dog I am. I did seem to help brighten her mood, which is a good thing. Well, I sort of "met" the hamster, Ami. My mom brought her out in her rolling, plastic ball. Kind of freaked me out. My brother, Little Guy, got "the cone" last night. His left eyelid was red and swollen. We're not sure if he got into it with a squirrel or what. My mom was off today. It was beautiful and sunny and we did spend some time in the back yard. We also napped.My dad is out of town. I miss snuggling with him in the morning. I'm 5 years old today. I came to live with my mom, dad, Cosette, and Little Guy four years ago today. I'm not sure if we will be celebrating later when my mom gets home from work, but I hope so. Last night we all went for a nice long walk together.

Cosette had major surgery this morning. She is awake from it, but needs to be watched very closely the next few days. It's so cold and rainy here in California. My mom and dad were looking through a dog encyclopedia at a local chain bookstore. Apparently, the latest term for dogs like me is "random-bred dog."I don't have a problem being called a "mutt," "mongrel," "mixed breed," or whatever. But, random-bred dog??? Please!

This year's photo with Santa...There's a holiday street fair in my neighborhood every December. This is my 3rd year meeting Santa! He's very nice and will hopefully bring me some yummy treats and new chew toys. I had on my Santa suit and hat and got lots of attention from everyone.  Cosette and Little Guy had to stay home. I went to the vet today for a check-up. It was a new location, but a vet I used to see at the old building. I was happy to see her.
