I'm still around! Apologies for not updating more regularly. I'm 9 years old now and still working as a Therapy Dog. In fact, I went to an event yesterday and got to meet two very famous mice!

Dream Street

I don't have time to write much, but I worked yesterday at a very special event. We had to drive a ways, but we ended up at this beautiful camp full of really friendly and smiling kids. The kids are all "sick," with things like cancer, but you'd never really know it. They were having so much fun! My therapy dog friends and I got lots of petting and hugs.

Another Year Older

I recently celebrated my 8th birthday. I have to say it was probably the best one I've ever had! I've been working with some kids in a special after school program a couple of Fridays a month. Since my birthday was on a Friday, my Mom thought it'd be fun to have a party for me with my friends.

Here's my special Happy Birthday scarf. Pretty stylish, isn't it?

I also had my very own party hat and "pupcake" from Three Dog Bakery. All of the kids had human cupcakes, wore party hats with paw prints and sang to me.

After all of the festivities, I worked with a couple of kids. Our session ended with me getting lots of belly rubs. Check out that grin!

All In A Day's Work

Being a Therapy Dog means that I often get to participate in some pretty special events. This past weekend I got to hang out with the kids participating in Snowball Express. Children who have lost parents in military action were flown in from all over the country for a weekend of fun events in Southern California. I was happy to be there and give lots of hugs. They hugged and petted me and some of the Moms and Dads said, "Thank you. The dogs were my kids' favorite thing here today." I posed for a lot of photos and brought smiles to a lot of faces that haven't had much to smile about lately.

I started my new job and have been a few times now already. It's pretty cool and I've met some really nice kids. They seem to enjoy teaching me new tricks, which involves treats, so I'm not complaining at all! I'll probably be going at least a couple of times a month.

Here I am posing with my buddy Riley.

Oh, and I got to go to something really cool called the Special Olympics. I met a lot of really nice people there too. I hope you are having a nice summer.

Working Class Dog

I knew something was going on when I got a bath and extra grooming Friday night. My Mom got up really early on Saturday and we drove in the car for quite a while. It turns out we were going to get re-registered for me to work as a Therapy Dog. It's funny that they call it a "test." I like doing everything we had to do!

Working Class Dog

Here I am, back in the car after my test. I did such a great job and should be working again very soon!

(My hamster brother, Ami, did not have such a good day. He was in a race, one that he has won twice before, but my Mom said he didn't even run!)

Back To Work!

It's been a long time since I've done any Therapy Dog work, but I got to make a special visit this past weekend. I went to a woman's home. She's been very sick and her daughter thought I would cheer her up. She petted me and kept saying what a good dog I am. I did seem to help brighten her mood, which is a good thing. Hopefully, I'll get back to working more regularly real soon.

My day started with a bath and lots of grooming....paws trimmed, teeth brushed, etc. Then, my mom and I took a pretty long ride in the car. We stopped in a strange neighborhood so I could walk for awhile. I met some nice kids.

After the walk, we went to a building where there were lots of nice people. Turns out it was my Delta Society test. Delta Society is a national organization that registers therapy dogs. They were running a bit behind, we waited some and then got started.

I PASSED!  Hopefully this means I'll be going back to work soon. I miss working with the kids at the hospital.

Canine Good Citizen

I passed my Canine Good Citizen test today! I've done a similar test before for Therapy Dog work, but needed an updated one. My mom was worried I wouldn't pass because I was stubborn on doing my "down," but I did it and all was well.
