• I went to the vet today for a check-up. Besides being pretty healthy, she said I was really cute! I do have to go in and have some dental work done. I have a loose tooth and need a cleaning.

• My birthday was quiet. No big party or anything, but I did get two brand new tennis balls!

• We are having beautiful weather! Little Guy is still on "rest" precautions for a recent hip injury, so he isn't allowed to run around and wrestle with me. I miss that. He will be better soon.

What's New In Rustyland?

• Well, it's getting warmer outside, which I really like.

• Little Guy hurt his hip and had to go to the vet.

• He's on "strict rest" right now, so Squirrel Patrol is all up to me for now.

• My Mom started putting this really yummy powder supplement on our food. I got really excited, as I'd gotten bored with eating, but now we're out.

• There's talk of me going to work soon, but I have to take some tests first.

Mountain Getaway

This weekend we went to the mountains! It was really nice, but a little cold at night. We stayed with a friend at his cabin and my mom says we were all well-behaved. I enjoyed taking a nice long walk to the lake in the clean, fresh mountain air. I hope we get to go there again. It was fun!

Evening Walk

The whole pack went on a nice long walk tonight. Yep, all 5 of us, my mom and dad, Cosette, Little Guy, and me. It was a good time. Perfect weather and lots of great smells along the way. I sure did work up an appetite!

Last night my mom and dad had a party in the backyard, but we weren't invited. We had to stay indoors. I would've liked to have visited with some of my friends, but it was a "no dogs" affair. There was lots of popcorn and other treasures we found in the yard today though!

I'm Back!

Well, honestly, I never went anywhere, but my mom did. She went on two back-to-back trips and has not been around to help me with the computer. I'm missed her so much and she only came home last Wednesday for a short time, switched out her suitcase and was out the door again! And the second time she took my dad with her too!

Us doggies survived, thanks to our good buddy Cheryl who fed us and gave us lots of nice petting. I'm just glad everyone is home now. It sure was nice to have the humans in the bed again last night.

P.S. Little Guy is doing much better and doesn't have to wear his cone anymore.

Little Guy in a Cone

My brother, Little Guy, got "the cone" last night. His left eyelid was red and swollen. We're not sure if he got into it with a squirrel or what. Later, he scratched at it and it was bleeding, so my mom found this cone to make him wear. He is not a happy camper.

Apparently, humans find dogs in cones to be quite humorous, but I don't get it. I feel bad for the little dude!

My mom was home sick today. She's feeling a little better. I think it's because I snuggled with her!

I replaced my photo in the post below of a better one of me with my new scarf. Here's Little Guy with his:
He won't "sit" with it on. He lies down and tries to sniff and chew on it! Cosette got one too, but my mom had a hard time getting a good photo. She has so much fur, it just gets buried!

My friend Kelly made the scarves and gave them to my mom and dad last weekend. They had a big party to celebrate their 10th anniversary and got some nice presents. The party wasn't at our house, but some relatives from my dad's side did come over to visit us and that was fun!

Lucky for me, it is now getting a bit too warm to wear my scarf a lot. I'm not complaining because I've been waiting for the sun to come out for a long time now!

Mutts 'R Us

My mom and dad were looking through a dog encyclopedia at a local chain bookstore. Apparently, the latest term for dogs like me is "random-bred dog."

I don't have a problem being called a "mutt," "mongrel," "mixed breed," or whatever. But, random-bred dog??? Please!

A Family Holiday Photo

Today, my Mom attempted to get a nice holiday photo of all three of us. 

Well, it was a challenge.

Little Guy didn't want to wear the Santa hat. 

Neither did Cosette.

Here is the one where we are all fairly cooperative. Of course 

we aren't lined up with the proper stockings! Oh well!

Cosette had taken off and I decided I'd have enough too!

However, we did get this special treat:

Frosty Paws® are a frozen treat for dogs. Sort of like non-dairy ice cream. Dairy products are not easy for canines to digest, so this is a good alternative. And they are really yummy! We all got one to celebrate Little Guy and Mom's birthdays!
